Wellness Exams
Like humans, pets benefit from visiting their doctor regularly. Puppy and kitten wellness exams are routinely performed at 6, 9, 12, and 15 weeks. During these visits they receive vaccinations, parasite checks, and a complete physical examination. Annual wellness examinations are performed on pets between 1 and 6 years of age. Annual wellness exams help to identify and address medical, behavioral, and environmental issues before they present a serious concern. It also provides an opportunity to discuss recent advances in veterinary health care and nutrition that may be of benefit to your pet. Senior wellness examinations are performed on pets over the age of seven. These exams are similar to the annual exams with the addition of blood tests to evaluate organ functions of our older pets. Some diseases of concern to senior pets include glaucoma, diabetes, kidney disease, arthritis, dental disease and heart disease.
